Robinhood Markets Made a Surprisingly Smooth Debut in Europe
December 7, 2023
Popular investing app Robinhood Markets (HOOD) today announced the launch of its cryptocurrency trading app in the European Union. The app went live on Thursday, December 7, and investors obtained access to more than 25 coins and tokens, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).
The company launched its brokerage service in the UK a week ago after two failed attempts. One involved the acquisition of British crypto startup Ziglu, but the deal ultimately fell through.
Robinhood said in a statement that its platform is the only one licensed participant on the market that offers monthly Bitcoin reimbursements as a percentage of customers’ trading volume. Users can also earn Bitcoin referral bonuses.
